And yet it gets even better. With a unique loadout that is specialized for him and gadgets that amplify his ability, Vigil can do more than just be invisible. He can act as a scout and primary damage dealer for the squad, making him one of Rainbow Six Extraction’s undisputed best operators.
Primary Weapon - Bosg12.2
Holographic Sights Suppressor Angled Grip
Vigil’s ideal weapons are flipped from most other operators. The usual setup is to have the primary weapon be loud and the secondary weapon be silenced. However, with two SMGs available as his secondary weapon, this means the primary weapon must be in charge of doing the covert work.

Thankfully, Vigil’s signature shotgun, the Bosg12.2, is available soon and comes with a silencer on the front. Consider prioritizing Vigil as one of the operators to level up first to get access to it. Paired with his ability, he can get right in the face of an enemy, pull the trigger, and they’ll never see it coming.
Secondary Weapon - SMG-12
Holographic Sights Angled Grip
Since the secondary weapon will be used for when things go south, it’s important to use one that can kill enemies as fast as possible. The second gun, the C75 Auto, is listed as an automatic pistol and yet is still somehow handles less accurately and does less damage than the starting SMG-12.
This starting weapon deals plenty of damage but has some kick, so be sure to slap an angled grip on there. It’s nice not to need tons of experience in a short window before getting access to a death-dispenser such as this.
Explosive Tech - Nitro Cell
The toughest part of detonating remote weapons is trying to get the enemy to stand right on top of them. In open combat, this is a nearly impossible task. Thankfully, Vigil’s invisibility allows him to place Nitro Cells right under and enemy’s feet and detonate them before they realize what happened.

This is a boss killer and the maneuver deals as much damage as any of the best weapons in the game. The Nitro Cells are tailored to Vigil’s ability and should be relied on regularly. Don’t forget that he gets an extra explosive if he’s advanced enough levels.
Gear - Ammo Satchel
Vigil is going to be taking lead, scanning enemies, and silently taking out opponents with his shotgun. If Vigil runs out of ammo, the squad needs to change their style and take unnecessary risks. To prevent this issue, grab an Ammo Satchel and never worry about running dry.
It’s not the most exciting choice, but Vigil is already a very complete character. Operators that use the secondary weapon to silently kill enemies don’t generally have ammo problems but Vigil uses his primary weapon to do so, meaning this is an important part of his loadout.
