Solo Tips and Tricks For Rainbow Six Extraction

1. Build Up a Team of Solo Operators

Some great Operators to pick when playing solo in Rainbow Six Extraction include:

Ela, whose Stun Mines and weapon options make her great for taking out all enemy types, including Elites. Doc, who can self-heal multiple times during a mission. Vigil, who can become undetectable, making stealth combat or a quick getaway even easier. Pulse, whose Cardiac Sensor can detect VIPs, MIAs, and Nests through obstacles, meaning finding objective targets is quick and easy.

Only picking one of these great characters to level-up is a bad idea, however. Solo players need to have multiple effective options to choose from should an Operator need to be healed in Rainbow Six Extraction, or become MIA. Rescuing an MIA character can be difficult if they got KO’d on a tricky map, and it’s even harder with a low-leveled who Operator players are unfamiliar with.

2. Skip Difficult Objectives

Main objectives are the primary way players will get XP fast in Rainbow Six Extraction, but choosing to extract instead of taking on a hoard of enemies in solo matches will actually save a lot of time, and Operator health. It’s far quicker to bank the current XP and restart a level than it is to struggle with difficult missions like Decontamination, Serial Scan, and Gateway.

3. Start With Stealth

Although Extraction is a first-person shooter, it’s far easier to attempt to clear a level by using stealth techniques than it is to try and kill everything with brute force. A firefight is bound to break out at some point, but using suppressed weapons to take out Nests and Sludge in Rainbow Six Extraction, the flashlight to highlight and kill enemies through walls, and performing stealth takedowns with the knife will extend the life of any Operator–playing solo or not.

4. Remove Suppressor From Primary Weapon

Equipping a suppressor on a pistol is a smart way to get stealth kills, even through walls. Having one on a primary weapon, however, will almost always do more harm than good. While stealth is important, when a lot of enemies do target players, they are going to want to have as much firepower as possible. Silencers significantly lower the damage of even the best weapons in Rainbow Six Extraction, so having one on an Operator’s main damage output has the potential to be fatal.

5. Don’t Forget About Doors

Closing doors can help bottleneck a hoard of enemies and make picking them off incredibly easy. They can also be opened and closed in quick succession to trap enemies in an animation while players unload a clip into them. Using a knife in this situation can also help save ammo if players are running low. Forgetting that doors are destructible is a common mistake in Rainbow Six Extraction, so just be careful not to get trapped after one gets destroyed.

6. Remove Spores With Grenades

Green Spores can attach to Operators in Rainbow Six Extraction and damage their health, but can be removed by a teammate. This can be a huge problem if playing solo, but a character throwing any grenade at their own feet will remove the annoying parasites without taking any damage.

7. The Map Has Even More Useful Information

The map is great for planning a route to an airlock or extraction point, but perhaps even better than this information are the stats it reveals about area items. At the bottom left-hand corner of the map, there are numbers telling players how many of each supply case is left. This includes items placed in the next airlock. It’s incredibly useful to quickly check this stat to see if it’s worth searching, or if players should just continue to the next location.

These solo tips and tricks can be implemented by all Rainbow Six Extraction players, but are particularly helpful to those choosing to take on the Archaean threat on their own.
