Beltre missed two weeks with a left hamstring strain. The 39-year-old is batting clean-up in his first game back, trying to help the Rangers gain some momentum after a lacklustre start to the season.
Before his injury, Beltre – a five-time Gold Glove winner, four-time Silver Slugger and All-Star – had an impressive .310/.366/.437 slash line with one home run and eight RBIs over his first 24 games this season.
The Rangers hold a 14-23 win-loss record, last in the American League (AL) West.
